Developing an Effective Corporate Open Source Policy
05/23/2007, 2:00 PM - 2:50 PM

Speaker:
Ira Heffan, Associate, Goodwin Procter LLP.

When developing a corporate open source policy, a company must answer a number of questions. For example: which (or which types) of open source projects should be allowed? How much review should be required for use? And who should be doing that review? The decisions embodied in a policy involve a careful balance of enabling development teams while protecting the integrity of the company's intellectual property assets. This session will discuss the options for these decisions, and the costs and benefits of different choices.
